Barrier: Delays in obtaining visas and achieving immigration compliance
Story: A large global retailer that MSI had recently implemented for mobility services was having issues with its immigration provider, including delays in obtaining visas and immigration compliance. MSI offered to assist, so the client assigned us a trial project in mainland Dubai — a work permit, renewal, and cancellation process for 30 applicants.
As the project got underway, we encountered several challenges. For example, the company only had a single dongle and e-signature card, which had to be shared with multiple departments. There were also many time zone differences and connectivity issues with the applicants, which made it challenging to get employment contracts signed on time.
We began by putting put a process in place that enabled more efficient sharing of the dongle and signature card. We also continuously followed up with applicants, even on weekends. In addition, we provided immigration consultation and advice to the client’s HR team and assignees whenever requested, at no additional cost, on all pertinent issues, rules, regulations, etc.
Result: Employment contracts were all signed on time (some well in advance) and the work permit, renewal, and cancellation process handled to the client’s complete satisfaction. What helped MSI manage this quickly and efficiently was the skill and expertise of our team and the effectiveness of our tracking system. Our in-country immigration partner also played a part, as it was able to rapidly prepare applications.
